O Goddess, of terrifying form, emitting a fierce roar, striking fear into all enemies, and bestowing boons upon devotees—please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||1||
O Goddess, worshipped by Devas and Danavas alike, served by Siddhas and Gandharvas, and dispelling ignorance and sin—please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||2||
O Goddess, adorned with matted locks, holding Your restless tongue within, and sharpening the intellect—please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||3||
O Goddess, manifesting a gentle wrath, possessing a sublime form, and embodying a fierce nature—salutations to You! O Embodiment of Creation—salutations to You; please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||4||
You dispel the ignorance of the foolish and are the loving protectress of Your devotees. O Goddess, please remove my delusion and protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||5||
O Goddess, Embodiment of the seed mantras 'Vam Hrum Hrum'—I yearn for a vision of Your divine form. O Goddess, propitiated through ritual offerings and sacrificial fires—salutations to You! O Ugratara (Fierce Tara), Deliverer from dire calamities—eternal salutations to You; please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||6||
O Goddess, grant me wisdom, grant me renown, grant me the gift of poetic expression, and dispel my ignorance. Please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||7||
O Goddess Tara, whose beautiful lotus feet are revered by Indra and the Devas, who is overflowing with compassion, whose countenance shines like the moon, and who delivers the entire universe—please protect me, who has sought refuge in You. ||8||
Any person who recites this hymn on the auspicious days of the Ashtami, Navami, or Chaturdashi—without a doubt—shall attain spiritual perfection within a period of six months. ||9|| By reciting this text, one who desires liberation attains it; one who seeks wealth acquires it; and one who seeks knowledge gains mastery over learning, logic, grammar, and similar disciplines. ||10||
The person who, with unwavering devotion, continuously recites this hymn witnesses the destruction of their enemies and the awakening of profound intellect within themselves. ||11||
Undoubtedly, the welfare of that individual is assured—whether they recite this hymn amidst adversity, in the heat of battle, while suffering from ignorance, at the time of giving charity, or when facing a situation of fear. ||12||
Having thus offered praise, one should bow down to the Goddess and then present the *Yoni Mudra* to Her. ||13||
